Escape to Castelfalfi: A Luxurious Tuscan Oasis Where Every Sunset Feels Like a Dream

Hotel Snapshot

Sipping on a crisp Italian Pinot Grigio, watching the sunset over the endless shades of green that cover every inch of my surroundings, is a scene that almost feels plucked from a movie itself. But I assure you, this is not make-believe — this is Castelfalfi. And this was what I experienced every evening at sundown. However, the feeling of “how is this real?” wasn’t limited to the epic aperitivos on the lawn, but integrated into every detail of this stunning and luxurious Tuscan oasis.

Design & Character

The main hotel blends contemporary comfort with classic Tuscan charm, using a palette of earth tones and materials like leather, wood, and marble. The hotel’s design is taken to another level with Italian designer Stefano Ricci's two-suite penthouse, which sits within a castle that embodies both Castelfalfi's historical charm and the luxury lifestyle brand's legendary and bespoke taste.

The Rooms

Throughout the property, the 146 rooms are comprised of signature rooms, suites, and villas that absorb the surrounding nature and history to create an enchanting experience.

Food & Drink

It’s clear throughout the property that a passion for Italian culture is at the heart of everything Castelfalfi does — and nowhere is that more evident than in the food (this is Italy, after all!). With five onsite restaurants, Castelfalfi offers a range of takes on traditional Italian cuisine. At Il Rosmarino, a classic Tuscan trattoria, the homemade pappardelle with hand-cut Castelfalfi wild boar white ragù is a standout.

But my personal favorite was the tableside tiramisù at Olivina — a more elegant dining spot — as it was a life-changing experience for this dessert lover (I think about it everyday). Still, the most enchanting part of dining at Castelfalfi might just be the setting. Head to Bar Ecrù (which shares Olivina’s panoramic views), where you can sink into a cozy chair on the lawn, sip an evening aperitivo, and watch a Negroni be mixed right in front of you (another impressive tableside moment!).

For those seeking a more elevated culinary journey, La Rocca delivers an intimate fine dining experience that celebrates Tuscan gastronomy at the highest level.

Amenities

Guests can suit up to visit the resident bees that produce sweet wildflower honey — a perfect pairing with the local cheeses tasted afterward. You can head into the woods to hunt for truffles, then enjoy your harvest during a custom truffle-themed lunch. Or explore the vineyards on the property and sample the organic wines and extra virgin olive oils crafted right on site. Together, these experiences — along with over 40 other unique activities (think: archery, pizza making, luxury car rental) — offer a deeply authentic glimpse into the soul of Castelfalfi.

Spa & Wellness

Since Castelfalfi is a destination in and of itself, it only makes sense that it would offer a wellness center designed to help you unwind from all the ways it keeps you delightfully busy. The RAKxa Wellness Spa — named after the Thai word meaning “to love, cherish, preserve, and heal”— is thoughtfully curated to ignite a sense of calm the moment you arrive. Treatments range from a Seven Chakra Hot Stone Massage to more advanced treatments like Hydrafacials.

Daybeds tucked behind curtain-draped archways line the serene indoor pool, which flows seamlessly into an adults-only infinity pool outdoors, where you can swim right up to the edge and take in those classic Tuscan views (which also makes for a phenomenal photo moment).

Location

Castelfalfi is located within its own borgo — a medieval village complete with a Medicean garden, an ancient church, and a historic castle. The estate spans 2,700 acres of pristine Tuscan countryside, forming an agricultural haven that offers a wealth of immersive experiences.

Once you arrive at Castelfalfi, it never really leaves you. Every person, every plate, every experience seems to welcome you in, offering not just luxury but lasting memories.
